About

My story. One pixel at a time
Welcome to Pixel Pages! My little home in the blog-o-sphere where I share my story through digital scrapbooking. When I first discovered scrapbooking, I loved the idea of it but the traditional paper process was not my cup of tea. Having grown up at the same time as the internet became mainstream, it made more sense for me to pursue scrapbooking in a digital form. In trying to learn more about digital scrapbooking, I discovered that there are almost no blogs about this beloved passion of mine. So, I started my own!

Who I am
My name is Chelsea. I am a 34 year old mother of an amazing 15 year old boy, Lukas, and I am head over heels in love with my sweetheart of 7 and a half years, Kyle. I love trying new food, all things vintage, little adventures, quiet moments spent at home, and listening to Elvis.

My favorite things about digital scrapbooking
All of my supplies are stored on an EHD (External Hard Drive). It's not taking up anywhere near the amount of space that traditional paper scrapbooking supplies would.
You can reuse your supplies! So many paper scrapbookers end up hanging onto their favorite pieces of ephemera, waiting for just the right LO (layout) to use it on. With digital, you can use that favorite element on every single LO if you'd like.
With traditional paper scrapbooking supplies, what you see is what you get. Do you wish that emerald green paper was a little more minty? Too bad. But with digital, you can change it!

Why do I scrapbook?
"Scrapbooking invites us deaper into ourselves." ~ Jennifer Wilson
Point blank, I struggle greatly with depression. Scrapbooking for me has become a journal of sorts and is a way to focus on the positive things in my life. I'm still learning to scrap the more difficult times.
It's also a way for me to connect with my son. Through my personal album he will get to know me as a person. Through his album, he'll know the secrets of being his mom.
"Isn't it funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back everything is different?" ~ C.S. Lewis
I scrapbook to help me remember all those moments (big or small) that get forgotten in a week, month or year.

"Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like,
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where, or when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be passed away?
Make time to save your stories,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box."
